Recent work
A selection of projects from the last couple of years. We don't post every shoot (clients vary on what they want public) but the below gives a sense of the kinds of spaces, scales, and contexts we work in. Additional photos of any of these projects are available on request.
Residential interiors
Modern farmhouse renovation, Rockingham County VA
Full interior documentation of a renovation by a Charlottesville-based design studio. Mix of architectural-detail shots and styled lifestyle frames. Used by the designer in portfolio + featured in a regional design magazine.
Historic Hinton home — interior refresh
1890s home with a careful contemporary refresh. The shoot worked with the natural light constraints of small original windows; we shot across two days to catch different times of day for different rooms.
Mountain retreat, Highland County
New-build mountain home with significant glazing. Documented for the architect's portfolio and for the homeowner's family records. Drone work for the exterior approach shots.
Designer's own home, Harrisonburg
An interior designer's own home. The kind of project that comes with strong opinions about every shot. Worked closely with the designer over a single day to capture both signature spaces and quieter details.
Architectural & commercial
Adaptive reuse office building, Staunton
Conversion of a 1920s industrial building into modern office space. Documented over the morning and late-afternoon to capture both interior atmosphere and architectural form. Used in the architecture firm's award submission.
Custom residential, Lexington VA
Full exterior documentation of a new-build residential project. Drone work for elevation and site context; ground-level for the entry sequences and architectural detail.
Hinton brewery taproom
Interior + branded-context photography for a small craft brewery's new taproom. Marketing use across web, social, and print menus.
Boutique hotel, Shenandoah Valley
A two-day shoot covering all guest rooms, public spaces, and exterior. Hotels are demanding work because the deliverable matters — guests book based on the photography.
Editorial & portraiture
Designer feature — Virginia Living Magazine
A six-page feature on a Charlottesville interior designer. Shot in two of her recent projects plus environmental portraits in her studio.
Craftsperson profiles — local journalism feature
Series of environmental portraits of Shenandoah Valley craftspeople — a furniture maker, a glassblower, a leather worker. Editorial-style; published in a regional magazine.
Architectural-firm leadership portraits, Richmond VA
Business portraits for an architecture firm's website. Shot on-site in their office and within recent project sites — places the team had genuine relationships with rather than generic studio backgrounds.
Where we travel
Most projects are within a two-hour drive of Hinton. That covers the Shenandoah Valley, Charlottesville, Richmond, southern West Virginia, and the western edges of DC. For projects beyond that radius, we travel; we've worked in Asheville NC, Pittsburgh PA, and several DC-area locations, and we've shot in West Virginia and Maryland. International work is rare but we've done one project in Lisbon, Portugal.
Travel costs (mileage above 50 miles each way, hotel for multi-day shoots beyond commuting range) are billed at standard rates documented in the project quote.

The web sample above is small by necessity. Our full portfolio of about 30 recent projects is available on request, usually as a curated PDF tailored to whatever kind of work you're considering us for. Email [email protected] with a sentence about your project and we'll send a relevant portfolio set.
