Services & pricing
This page covers how we work, what kinds of projects fit which format, and the price ranges you can expect. Every project gets a custom quote. The numbers below are starting points, not final prices.
Project formats
Half-day shoot — $1,400
4 hours on-site (typically a single morning or afternoon), 20–30 finished images. Good for: a single residential interior, a small commercial space, a single architectural exterior, or environmental portraits at one location.
Full-day shoot — $2,400
8 hours on-site, 40–60 finished images. The most-common format. Good for: a full residential interior, a moderate commercial space, an architectural project requiring multiple times of day, editorial assignments with multiple subjects/locations.
Multi-day shoot — quoted per project
Larger projects spanning 2–4 days. Hotels, multi-building campuses, hospitality interiors with both day and evening atmospheres. Travel costs and accommodation are quoted separately.
Retainer arrangement — quoted per agreement
For design and architecture firms doing 4+ projects with us per year, we offer retainer arrangements that include a pre-agreed number of shoot days per quarter at a reduced rate, plus priority scheduling and consistent post-production look across all projects. Best for clients who use photography as a core marketing channel.
What's included
- Pre-shoot scout (where helpful) or detailed pre-shoot conversation by phone
- On-site shoot time as quoted, including any styling adjustments on-site
- Professional post-production: colour correction, perspective correction, retouching of obvious distractions (visible cables, smudges, etc.)
- Delivery via private gallery (Pixieset) for your selection and download
- Two rounds of revision requests included
- Final delivery in print-resolution and web-resolution sizes
- Standard usage licence (see below)
What's not included (separately quoted)
- Travel beyond 50 miles each way. Mileage at IRS rate; accommodation for multi-day shoots beyond commuting range.
- Professional stylist for editorial work. For high-touch editorial we work with stylists; their fee is invoiced separately.
- Drone work over $200 in airspace where additional permits are required. We're FAA Part 107 certified; standard residential and commercial drone work is included in the day rate.
- Twilight or evening "blue hour" shoots that extend the day beyond 8 hours — typically an additional half-day rate.
- Image archive beyond 12 months. Standard archive is 12 months from delivery; beyond that, raw files can be archived for an annual fee.
Usage licence
Standard licence with every shoot includes:
- Web use on the client's own website, social media, blog
- Print use in marketing materials (brochures, postcards, business presentations)
- Submission to design and architecture publications for editorial features
- Internal use (portfolio, training, client presentations)
Extended licences (advertising, third-party stock, billboard use, large-scale paid media campaigns) are available; quoted separately based on use.
Turnaround
Standard turnaround:
- Initial selection of 8–10 preview shots within 5 working days of the shoot
- Full delivered gallery within 3 weeks of the shoot
- Rush turnaround (1-week full delivery) available — adds 25% to the day rate; we'd need confirmation at booking time
Booking process
- Email enquiry. Include: location, type of project, target date range, intended use of the photos, and rough scope (rooms, exteriors, multi-day, etc.). The more specific you can be, the more accurate the quote.
- Phone call (15–30 minutes) to talk through the specifics. We use this to understand the space and any logistical issues.
- Written quote and contract. Quote includes day rate, any add-ons, and travel/expenses. Contract covers usage rights, delivery timeline, cancellation terms.
- 50% deposit to confirm the date in our schedule.
- Shoot day.
- Final balance due on delivery of the gallery.
Cancellation
Cancellations more than 14 days before the shoot: full deposit refund. 7–14 days: 50% deposit refund. Under 7 days: deposit non-refundable. Weather-related rescheduling (for outdoor work) is at no additional charge.
Common questions
Do you provide raw files? No — raw files aren't included in the standard licence. Most clients want finished, processed images. If you have a specific need for the raws (e.g., for further post-production by another retoucher), we can discuss; usually an additional fee applies.
Can you photograph occupied homes / spaces? Yes, frequently. We're respectful of clients' living spaces and we work efficiently. Some pre-shoot styling adjustment (removing personal items, tidying surfaces) is normal and we'd walk through this together at the start of the shoot.
Will you photograph weddings? Not currently — wedding work is a different specialty and we're focused on interior and architectural. We're happy to recommend Shenandoah Valley wedding photographers if that's what you're looking for.
